Summary
We were commissioned to produce a comprehensive, easy read report to review and evaluate Digital Consultation products, local utilisation, and opinions. The result was an easy-to-read report, with scorecards for each solution, supported with detailed data and in-depth supporting documentation. We utilised the new DFOCVC (Digital First Online Consultation & Video Consultation) framework together with local data and specialist reviews to enable strategic digital transformation. The report is primarily intended to aid the ICB by providing an update on the current deployment and use of Online Consultations in the area and provide recommendations for the future.
Aims/Objectives
To produce a comprehensive, easily readable report to review and evaluate products, including local utilisation and opinions and an assessment of DFOCVC solutions. The STP/ICB wanted us to review and evaluate each of the products in use locally and identify wider opportunities to be provide supporting information for a business case for future procurement
What did we do?
Workshops with GP Practices and CSU leads to agree local survey. An online local survey was produced, and data captured. We reviewed the resulting data, alongside additional data available from the major OC suppliers in the area.Key themes and important insights were identified.
Reviewed and scored solutions from the DFOCVC framework, produced a range of metrics (which were checked with suppliers), reviewed the usability, cost, and local feedback to produce a scorecard for each solution (in use locally along with an additional high scoring 5 others).
We researched other reviews and papers and included relevant information and references in the report.Analysed all data and produced a strategic narrative to foster adoption, increase utilisation of Digital Consultations and roadmap local opportunities.Produced an easy-to-read report with a host of supporting data and documentation.
What was the context / background?
Practices were utilising several products across the County with no real mechanism for understanding what was and wasn’t working and the positives of each solution. CCG needed information to make strategic decisions and support a business case.
How was it organised and who was involved?
We worked with GP Practices, a ICB Leads, CSU GP Leads and Software Suppliers. Whilst we were able to run some face-to-face workshops, due to the pandemic much of the engagement work had to happen remotely which we were able to facilitate through online tools. Suppliers were happy to provide demos and share links and further information. CSU leads were happy to co-ordinate and chase where necessary. ICB lead contributed to strategic discussions and provided insight into opportunities the report would be a key tool for.
